Y4 children attend important Commonwealth Youth Games meeting

October 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Phoebe, Thomas, Zoe and Amelia in Class 4S attended an important meeting during the holidays at Scoill Valajeelt, when they met the Ministers for Education and Tourism and Leisure and Mike Hopper, the New Zealand representative for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2011, who was visiting the Island for the first time. The Isle of Man is hosting the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011 and to mark this event, our school is linking up with a school in New Zealand, so it was interesting for the children to listen to Mr Hopper discussing his love of the ‘All blacks’, and his curiosity about Manx tail-less cats!

Congratulations to Phoebe who won the mascot for the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune, India last year.
